Fiji Uncovered

Explore Fiji’s interior treasures, from friendly locals in traditional villages to stunning national parks

The lure of Fiji naturally comes from its beachfront beauty, where palm-lined sands touch turquoise lagoons and thatched-roof bures are tucked into lush grounds edged by the sea. Yet, as you immerse yourself in the day-to-day pleasures of this tropical archipelago, you’ll quickly discover that even more treasures lie within. Let us help you explore deeper into Fiji’s islands, where verdant forests and national parks greet you with rugged beauty and cultural encounters influence every aspect of your stay.

Inland Adventures

Let us help you create your perfect Fijian adventure, whether it’s arranging your privately guided excursion or finding your ideal luxury resort where cultural immersion is at the forefront of your experience.

National Parks

Six national parks spread throughout Fiji’s islands harbor another world of natural beauty. Vibrant bird life and trails punctuated by swimming holes are found in the Colo-i-Suva Forest Reserve on the eastern side of Vito Levu. On the western side of the island, in Koroyanitu National Heritage Park, the Garden of the Sleeping Giant is the perfect place to uncover a colorful array of orchids. On the verdant “garden island” of Taveuni, Bouma National Heritage Park offers avid hikers gorgeous views and secluded waterfalls.

Our pick for the most unexpected scenery is Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park: follow a guided walk crisscrossing the four-mile expanse of wind-swirled sand dunes to discover pottery relics dating back to the Lapita people and pockets of tropical dry forests.

Thurston Gardens

For the amateur horticulturist, Thurston Gardens in Fiji’s capital city of Suva is a botanical haven of towering fig trees heavy with fruit and fragrant blooms both familiar and exotic. History buffs can head indoors to the Fiji Museum to peruse 3,700 years worth of archaeological artifacts while lovers of the outdoors may wish to recline in the shadow of the 1918 clock tower, admiring pink tangles of bougainvillea against Fiji’s cloudless blue skies.
